It’s peak summer, rain and cold seem a distant memory and London’s drinking and dining scene continues to roll on with thrilling new openings. This month we’ve had an energetic new Turkish diner, a second location for one of the capital’s best-loved bakeries, a brasserie putting the fun back into French dining and more. Here are all the new London bakeries, restaurants and cafes covered in July 2026.
• New Queen’s Park wine bar and restaurant Bar Blondie might be a tribute to spaghetti westerns – but we love it for its lush textured design, contemporary takes on Euro classics (including handmade pasta) and impressive wine list by award-winning sommelier Alexandra Price.
• Adding to London’s love affair with handrolls is Miokuru, a sexy new Soho spot that spotlights British produce and has a hidden bar pouring London-brewed sake out back.
• Beloved south-east bakery Toad has opened a second, larger spot in Deptford for its cult-fave “everything” bagel croissants, flawless sourdough and – for the first time – espresso.
• Adam Byatt is known for his fine-dining cooking at Clapham’s Trinity, but with his new Wandsworth Common Italian spot Rosina, he’s also proving a dab hand at good old neighbourhood dining, too.
• Melbourne-inspired coffee and ace sarnies have arrived on Clapham Common thanks to new summer-ready cafe Spread.
• French restaurant group La Nouvelle Garde has opened its first London brasserie – and it’s putting the fun back into French dining, with quirky cocktails, a lobster tank and fresh takes on Gallic comfort food classics.
• Two chefs with serious clout have opened a neighbourhood cantina in Brockley, and while it’s got a sharp, produce-forward menu it also offers BYO.
• It’s Texas barbecue with pan-Asian inflections at Hon’s BBQ in Hackney Wick – think Sichuan-glazed beef ribs and Taiwanese-style pork belly alongside a drinks list by a Brat sommelier.
• Twenty years in, and Ice Cream Union is going strong, including the recent arrival of its second ice-cream parlour in Soho.
• Escape to a lively Turkish tavern at Kismet, the latest restaurant to take over the space above Borough’s Globe pub.
