Admit it: whether or not you’re passionate about football, there’s something electric about being in London during a global tournament. And as excitement grips the capital, watching matches with friends becomes irresistible, and inevitably leads us to ask: which spot has the best atmosphere? The tastiest snacks? The most delicious drinks?
Right in time for the tournament, Casamigos is here to help Londoners celebrate the summer of football in the way we’re actually doing it. Sure, there are the passionate football fans who need nothing but a TV mounted to the wall to be happy; but for more and more of us, it’s about the whole package, and enjoying the moment with friends over great drinks.
So, as a fun and delicious alternative to a lager, enter the Quarterita: a full-size Margarita served in a quarter pint glass that’s designed specifically for this year’s football tournament. Why the “quarter”? The summer’s international football matches across North America will be played in quarters, a departure from past global fixtures. So instead of one halftime break, there are more opportunities to enjoy the moments between the action, making it more social. Plus, we’re definitely in the midst of a Margarita boom: Margs have become the UK’s most searched-for cocktail online (Kantar, 2025).
The Quarterita is made with Casamigos Blanco Tequila – small-batch premium tequila made from hand-selected 100 per cent blue weber agave, grown in the rich red clay soil of Mexico’s Jalisco Highlands. It has a clean, crisp taste, with subtle hints of sweet agave, citrus and vanilla. And, it has the unmistakable smoothness that Casamigos is known for.
But it’s not just about the drink itself: the Quarterita glass has been created in collaboration with Laura Jackson, tastemaker, author of Substack The Margarita Chronicles, and Broadsheet columnist. Jackson’s design sees football iconography and British pub culture meet the spirit of Casamigos’s heartland, Cabo San Lucas. It’s available to buy on her homeware and curation platform Glassette, so you can make the Quarterita at home.
“Hosting and bringing people together has always been at the heart of what I love to do,” Jackson said in a statement. “The Quarterita felt like a really natural extension of that. It takes something familiar, the ritual of going for a pint whilst we watch the football – and gives it a fresh energy for how people are socialising now.”
Where to try the Quarterita this summer
All this talk of tequila got you dreaming of sipping Quarteritas with friends while absorbing that match day energy? Luckily, the Quarterita can be found in some of London’s best spots for catching the action. Beloved Soho watering hole The Blue Posts will be serving it throughout the season, and over in Mayfair, The Audley is a perfect spot for sipping while you watch, surrounded by contemporary art.
South of the river, Peckham cocktail favourite Copeland Social is a great shout (with excellent fire-led Latin- and South Asian-inspired fare by The Homie’s Kitchen). North London suntrap The Draper’s Arms is perfect for a match day with mates, as is Dalston’s Ellie’s Bar and the always-popular Knave of Club in Shoreditch. It’ll be the only pub in east London pouring frozen Quarteritas, which its founder, Benji Lebotiz, calls “a crowd-pleaser, perfect for enjoying with the football”.
You can purchase the Quarterita glass, designed in collaboration with Laura Jackson, for £24 (includes two glasses and two Casamigos Blanco 50ml minis) from Glassette.
Produced in partnership with Casamigos.
