As the nights draw in and the autumnal chill intensifies, leaving the house becomes an increasingly unappealing prospect. But over the coming months there’s a litany of creative pop-ups, collaborations and residencies around London – reason enough to wrap up warm and brave the elements.
Here are nine of the best, from a Jikoni takeover at the Barbican to female-led supper clubs at Somerset House, a residency from a US Instagram sensation and more.
Gaia Enria at Bruno
Gaia Enria, the Italian chef behind Shoreditch’s Pastificio Burro e Salvia, which closed in August, is heading up the kitchen at Victoria Park’s Bruno until October 26. Enria is bringing her signature refined approach to an autumnal à la carte menu featuring roast Jerusalem artichokes with bagna cauda; chicken liver pâté with panettone toast; and tortelli stuffed with delica pumpkin and parmigiano. Plus, there’s a comforting lamb and mushroom lasagne, and a pear, chocolate and amaretti tart.
Until October 26.

Reygadas’s team will serve the chef’s famous “bread of the dead”, her take on the pan dulce traditionally made to honour lost loved ones during the holiday. Diners will find two limited-edition pies – the Hoxton Hearty, filled with slow-cooked duck leg and cranberry jus, and the Big Shroom, a chestnut and mushroom pie with pecorino bechamel – both served with mash, parsley liquor and a dash of chilli vinegar.

Jesse Jenkins at The Donovan Bar
The award for the year’s most unexpected collaboration goes to this residency by Jesse Jenkins at The Donovan Bar in Brown’s Hotel. The LA-born chef and content creator, known for his “fresh, fast and filthy” approach, will be cooking up a West Coast-meets-Mayfair menu for three months. On the menu are al pastor, pineapple and fish tacos; prawn toast tostadas; and tuna ceviche with tostadas – all designed to complement the maestro Salvatore Calabrese’s signature cocktails.

Ukrainian-born, Paris-based food designer Aprís (aka Alina Prokopenko) is taking over Noisy Oyster for a playful art-inspired dessert pop-up in November. Expect surrealist, tongue-in-cheek inventions such as a Matisse-inspired tart named the Oyster, filled with silky panna cotta and a squeeze of lemon, and the French Breakfast, a sculptural lemon meringue shaped like a cigarette.
